I'm Bhuvan. I'm an MS in Computer Science student at USC, and before that I was a research intern at the Indian Institute of Science working on AI-assisted physical therapy.
I like building things that work in the real world. Not demos, not prototypes that live in a GitHub README: systems that run on real hardware, serve real users, and break in ways you didn't expect. I've deployed computer vision on a coffee plantation, shipped a Chrome extension that runs a 310MB TTS model entirely in your browser, and built a grammar enforcement system that catches the difference between "roundup" and "round-up" for media companies that can't afford to get it wrong.
When I'm not building, I'm usually on a trail somewhere near LA (I've done most of the major hikes at this point) or losing SR in Overwatch and Apex. I hit Masters in Apex and Diamond in Overwatch, both solo queue, which I'm convinced is harder than any system design interview.
work
Stylebot Software Engineering Intern, 2025
Built a grammar enforcement system from scratch for content-sensitive media companies: think style rules like "roundup" vs "round-up" vs "round up" where getting it wrong actually matters. Got the system to 98% detection coverage across edge cases, processing text from Google Docs in real-time for 20+ enterprise clients.
Indian Institute of Science AI Research Intern, 2023–24
Worked on an AI-assisted yoga coach for physical therapy recovery. Built a 10,000+ image dataset with custom anatomical keypoints defined alongside doctors, along with the annotation tooling and validation pipelines to keep it consistent as the team scaled.
